WI vs India 4th ODI: MS Dhoni’s advice to Ravindra Jadeja caught on stump mic
During the 3rd ODI, Dhoni was heard advising Virat Kohli not to waste a DRS and poking R Ashwin

Antigua: He may be receiving flak for his 114-ball 54-run knock in the fourth West Indies versus India ODI at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Sunday, but MS Dhoni, the wicketkeeper, was at his best as Indian bowlers did a fine job restricting Jason Holder and Co at 189 runs.

Dhoni was heard advising Ravindra Jadeja as he bowled.

As reported by cricbuzz, the stump mic picked up Dhoni saying: “Chaar ball chala gaya, ek run nikal gaya, toh dikkat nahi hai” (You bowled four dot balls, does not matter even if this goes for single.)”

Jadeja, who replaced R Ashwin in the playing XI, for the fourth ODI, took two catches and ran out Devendra Bishoo with a direct-hit.

This was not the first time though Dhoni was heard advising Jadeja. In the past, during a Twenty20 clash against Australia, Dhoni asked Jadeja to bowl slow.

However, the most famous will always be him asking Jadeja to bowl according to field during the India versus New Zealand Test in 2014.

Dhoni was at his best advising Kuldeep Yadav and Virat Kohli and poking R Ashwin during the third match of the West Indies vs India series.

“Ball dekho, Ash. Kahan dhyaan hai? (Look at the ball, Ashwin. Where are you lost?)” quipped Dhoni after the Indian off-spinner, who was busy appealing, missed an easy run-out opportunity.

Dhoni was also heard asking skipper Virat Kohli not to waste a DRS.

“Leg stump ke bahar ja rahi hai. Review kharab ho jayega aur kuch nahin. (It is missing leg stump. We will waste one review; nothing else.)”

Dhoni also told the young chinaman bowler, Kuldeep Yadav, what Rovman Powell will do.

Dhoni said, “Yeh (Rovman Powell) aage nahin badega. Andar se hi marega. (He will not step out. He will try to hit big from the crease.)”

This though was not the first time when the stump mic caught Dhoni’s pearls of wisdom.
